
With a sell-out crowd at there new ball park and President Bush throwing the ceromony opening pitch,The Nationals topped of a historic evening for them when Ryan Zimmerman christened Nationals Park with a game-winning home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Nats a 3-2 victory over the Braves on opening night.The Nationals went 1- 0 in the 1st inning with Cristian Guzman scoring after a double by Nick Johnson.Austin Kearns singled to right field allowing Johnson in to make it 2-0 with 1 inning gone.The Braves struck back in the 4th when Chipper Jones homered to left center.Going into the 9th and 2-1 up The Braves tied the ballgame the tying run scored on a passed ball charged to Paul Lo Duca.Just as the crowd at Nationals Park sensed this game might drag on a while, Zimmerman brought the proceedings to an abrupt halt. He drove a 1-0 fastball from sidearmer Peter Moylan over the fence for his fourth career walk-off homer, and the Nationals beat the Braves 3-2.
